Rosemary Christmas Wreaths
If you’re anything like us, you find Christmas gift wrapping all part of the festive fun. When you find the perfect gift, you don’t want to let it down by less-than-wonderful wrapping. Well, we’ve found something that will give your present some extra special charm. A simple craft activity, these mini rosemary wreaths are easy to prepare and the effect is beautiful. It adds a thoughtful, homemade touch and don’t get us started on the smell (delightful FYI). Our talented visual merchandiser-come-florist-guru, Caitlin, talks us through the steps.
While winter isn’t renowned for blossoming blooms and flower filled gardens, Christmas is traditionally a time where greenery is brought into the home to add comfort. We are all aware the role the Christmas tree plays and the custom of hanging a Christmas wreath on the door as a hearty, festive welcome. Today we take inspiration from this and make rosemary Christmas wreaths. This decorative technique is a modern and simple take on the wreath. Minimal in design, it’s charming and, not to mention, cute. If you love rustic styling or Scandinavian interiors, then we are sure you will love the look of these wreaths.
You will need:
- Twine string
- Green garden string
- Floristry wire
- Fresh sprigs of rosemary
- Wire cutters
- White card
- Scissors
Steps:
1. Twist your wire into a loop at your preferable size.
2. Tie your rosemary with the floristry wire, starting where you've twisted our initial loop (to cover up the messy bit!)
3. Do the same again in the other direction and fill in any gaps you may have.
4. Tie your string into a bow at the top. We tied ours a few times to cover all the floristry wire at the top of the loop.
5. Cut your paper strips to come over each side about 1.5cm and write on each name.
