We’ve found a recipe which is utterly indulgent, very easy and aesthetically adorable. When baking this recipe, we recommend you put on a Christmas movie or your favourite festive soundtrack, have a hot cocoa ready and waiting for you post bake and an abundance of fairy lights on. Just to ramp up the festive spirit for all the Christmassy feels.

At Sass & Belle, we strongly believe that cookies are always a good idea, especially as the nights start drawing in and there is a chill in the air. These fun and beautiful sugar biscuits add some seasonal charm to the home and are a tasty way to celebrate the colder months. They’re perfect with a cup of cocoa, too. We are very excited right now, for so many reasons. Firstly because today The Great British Bake Off will be back on our screens. There is no TV programme we love quite like GBBO. Mary Berry and the clan are as comforting as tucking into a slice of Victoria Sponge. It inspires us to bake in a way that no other cookery show has done before it. For that, we are eternally grateful. Another reason we’re rather ecstatic is because we have our very first guest blogger showing us how to bake *the prettiest cake we’ve ever seen*! In celebration of the GBBO and all things yummy, we got our bake on and *attempted* to make the prettiest cake you ever did see: a naked cake! The naked cake is not as saucy as it sounds, but it is damn-right delectable. Not for the faint-hearted, this bad boy will have you so proud of your accomplishments post-bake, you’ll practically be filling out your entrance form for 2017’s series. Let’s get to it!

We love pancakes! These sugary, sweet delights are the perfect lazy morning breakfast and nothing says ‘Spring is on its way’ quite like Shrove Tuesday. Yummy pancakes with all the toppings? Yes please! We are acutely aware however, that it was just over a month ago we’d promised to live a healthier life and swore to ourselves that 2016 was going to be all about nurturing our bodies with only goodness (Why do we make such resolutions?) So you can see the dilemma we face when Pancake Day comes around. (Don’t even get us started on what we’re going to do when it comes to Easter).
