Sometimes it’s completely and utterly necessary to give your work space a bit of a face-lift (and nothing at all to do with procrastination, honest). Having a lovely space to work in can completely affect your productivity and mood; in fact having an organised and functional desk can shave hours off your day. Just a little sprinkle of love here and something pretty there and you’ll feel a whole lot better about finishing that spreadsheet/phone call/email etc. Follow our simple and easy tricks to make your stationery pretty as a picture and the entire office will be swarming around desperate for you to share your secrets. Our key ingredient? Wrapping paper!

On Friday, it may have been a very dreary and wet July afternoon but we were having fun and frolics in the shelter of Sass & Belle HQ! To raise money for Breast Cancer Care we held our very own Strawberry Tea – all part of Breast Cancer Care’s Summer fundraiser. Our ordinary conference room was transformed to a pretty room full of scrumptious treats! There were strawberries aplenty and lots of sugary goodness which we happily indulged in. We baked, we put up bunting, we drank (a lot) of Pimms and most importantly we donated. Here are some tips from our bakers, pictures of the big day and a little bit about how Breast Cancer Care is changing lives…

Oh Summer holidays, how we love thee! We think back to the excitement we beheld at the prospect of six weeks off from school and complete freedom being only moments away. ‘School’s out for summer!’ we would chant as our parents would shudder with panic; how would they possibly keep us entertained for six whole weeks? By day five you can guarantee that there would be whines of ‘I’m bored’ filling the hallways and bouncing off siblings. And while school holidays fill us with nostalgia and cause us to reminisce about the days of yonder, for those who are parents, the holidays are a reality of ‘what do I do with my child?’ We can’t guarantee this advice will keep the whines at bay but we do hope that the activities we suggest are enjoyable for you too, and let’s be honest that is really important!

Harrogate holds a special place in the hearts of Sass & Belle HQ staff. Each year we visit the beautiful city for the Home & Gift fair, all part of tradeshow seasons for our parent company RJB Stone. And while visiting our stand is obviously the best thing to do when you’re in Harrogate, it’s only there twice a year. What a shame! Luckily for you there are tonnes of fun things to do in the North Yorkshire gem. Here’s a list that will keep you busy and entertained, whatever time of year you go!

Just like the sun, Wimbledon has come and gone and hasn’t it been an exciting one?! Jimmy the Owl ( y’know Jimmy the owl, you met him a while back) was a lucky little fella and got to witness some Wimbledon action live! At Sass & Belle HQ we were extremely jealous but also very pleased as he took lots of pictures and gave us a detailed account of his big day out. Jimmy take it away…
