It’s so fun getting crafty at Christmas and at Sass & Belle we love a DIY or two! Homemade things always go down a treat and people appreciate the thought and effort that goes into a creation. This year we thought it would be super fun (and surprisingly easy) to make our Christmas crackers and we were right; it was both simple and more importantly enjoyable. During the summer we had some beautiful origami cranes taking pride of place in our Sass & Belle store windows. Made from our delightful wrapping paper (which you can buy here), they proved to be very popular with customers and passers-by! We had people bartering, buying and begging us to show them how to make these beautiful decorations. Here we have a step-by-step video showing how easy they are to make.

Halloween is nearly upon! We adore the spooky festivities and in honour of the celebration we got a little crafty with some pumpkins. While we love the tradition of carving a pumpkin, we thought we’d mix things up this year. Let’s just say we challenged ourselves to make Halloween pretty, and we think we succeeded!

To mark the start of British Flowers Week we decided to celebrate the beautiful blossoms with our very own how to. Flowers can make a room and they are often said to change the entire feel of a wedding, thus considered a vital part of the preparations. Dried flowers are currently very on-trend with Brides-to-be. Not only do they add tons of rustic charm, but they last too. This means you can get crafty with them weeks before your big day and your masterpiece won’t wilt.

Today is Environment Day and to celebrate we are sharing with you our words of wisdom on growing your own herbs. We love to get our fingers green at Sass & Belle, particularly when the sun starts showing its pretty face. We also love herbs and think the addition of treats such as parsley and dill can transform a recipe. Not only is it lovely to grown your own, it helps saves the environment by reducing the transportation of pre-made herbs and thus your carbon footprint becomes that bit lighter.
