We don’t know about you but at Sass & Belle, we love Christmas decorations! We also adore sweet treats so we thought it was absolutely integral that now the festive season is upon us, we do a little DIY on edible Christmas decorations. Gingerbread is an obvious choice because of its Christmassy connotations, lasting power and, most importantly, deliciousness. Now who can resist that? Just make sure you make enough so you don’t have a half empty tree by Christmas Eve!

We love everything about Autumn and we particularly adore Halloween! The dressing up, the spooks and most importantly, the pumpkins. Okay, okay we’re still baking obsessed! As the final of The Great British Bake Off comes closer, our love for cake simultaneously heightens. Content editor Jess shows us her fine baking skills by making a delicious batch of chocolate brownies. They were gone in flash which is the perfect indication of how scrumptious they were.

We don’t know about you but we are still feeling rather inspired to bake our socks off (well not literally our socks off). Whether it’s a light, fluffy cake covered in sugary icing and hundreds and thousands or a good old-fashioned tart; we will be there with our cookbook and an eagerness to learn all the tricks of the cake world. Lea, our in-house photographer, prepped something for us that I think we can all agree, looks (and tastes FYI) delicious!

Oh GBBO, how your weekly presence delights us! This week was all about desserts and it was certainly a jammy one. Ian become star baker for the third week in a row and Sandy wobbled her way out of the tent with her two tier cheesecake disaster. We watched eagled-eyed at Sass & Belle HQ took notes and prepared for our own bakes. Note one, turn oven on (cough…Sandy). This week Victoria our Content Editor showed us how to make Blueberry soured cream cake with cheesecake frosting.
