It’s so fun getting crafty at Christmas and at Sass & Belle we love a DIY or two! Homemade things always go down a treat and people appreciate the thought and effort that goes into a creation. This year we thought it would be super fun (and surprisingly easy) to make our Christmas crackers and we were right; it was both simple and more importantly enjoyable. Read on to learn how to achieve this and simple and effective craft idea which will brighten up the table.

During the summer we had some beautiful origami cranes taking pride of place in our Sass & Belle store windows. Made from our delightful wrapping paper (which you can buy here), they proved to be very popular with customers and passers-by! We had people bartering, buying and begging us to show them how to make these beautiful decorations. Here we have a step-by-step video showing how easy they are to make.

We love everything about Autumn and we particularly adore Halloween! The dressing up, the spooks and most importantly, the pumpkins. They’re fun to carve, to paint (see what we got up to last week) and to eat! Pumpkin pie is a seasonal favourite of ours, but this year we decided to try something a little different…

Oh Summer holidays, how we love thee! We think back to the excitement we beheld at the prospect of six weeks off from school and complete freedom being only moments away. ‘School’s out for summer!’ we would chant as our parents would shudder with panic; how would they possibly keep us entertained for six whole weeks? By day five you can guarantee that there would be whines of ‘I’m bored’ filling the hallways and bouncing off siblings. And while school holidays fill us with nostalgia and cause us to reminisce about the days of yonder, for those who are parents, the holidays are a reality of ‘what do I do with my child?’ We can’t guarantee this advice will keep the whines at bay but we do hope that the activities we suggest are enjoyable for you too, and let’s be honest that is really important!
